Continuing on to Amed after Ubud, the difference between these two towns could hardly be greater.

Most visitors go only to the first temple. This one has a gate through which one has a wonderful view to the volcano Agung.

The car ride between Ubud and Amed takes about 3 hours. Our driver Agung took us to 2 places worth seeing along the way.

From this start, you walk only very briefly along the signposted path until you already have the super view of the rice terraces.

The Ridge Walk is a short walk from the centre of Ubud along rice fields.

At the latest after the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" the city of Ubud is on everyone's lips.

The Gili Islands are an incredibly beautiful and varied destination, but the 3 islands could not be more different.

I have fulfilled a big dream - to ride on the beach.

Gili Trawangan is the largest of the Gili Islands and the one with the best developed infrastructure.

At the first stopover for snorkeling we were between Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno. There we saw some turtles.

I was "forewarned" that Gili Meno is much quieter than Gili Trawangan, but I was surprised...

Although Gili Trawangan is the largest of the Gili islands, if you go completely around the island, the running circuit is rather manageable

To also get an impression of Gili Air, I visited this island in the course of a day trip from Gili Meno.
